CBD oil to reduce prednisone

Has anyone tried taking CBD Hemp oil to reduce prednisone?   I just started on 15mg capsules (2 days) and I feel relief.  I've had PMR for 5 years and can't seem to get below 8 mg of pred without a flare

I am taking cbd oil to help with inflammation and have been reducing with its help. From 50 mg to presently 12mg. Before cbd I was stuck at higher dosages and unable to reduce. I feel it has helped a great deal.

I was diagnosed with PMR well over 10 years ago, I'm still on 5.5 mg prednisolone after failing numerous times trying to ween off. Fatigue and anxiety from the fatigue even from the tiniest reduction and i mean half milligram reduction 1 day in a week then normal dose the rest of the week, half milligram reduction 2 alternate days the following week then normal dose for that week and so forth but this still made me unable to cope with the fatigue. The 5.5 dose I have been stable mostly on that for about 6 years with a few recent flare ups due to lifestyle change. Because of this length of time that I've been on the prednisolone I am terrified that my Adrenals might have gone to sleep for good. But now I have recently heard about this CBD oil and I would like to try to use it whilst trying to come off the pred one more time. Has anyone managed to get on to a really low dose or managed to come off pred whist using CBD after this very long length of time? I would love to hear from you and discuss this further, Thank you -:)

    Good day to you.

I have recently discovered CBD, as a store opened nearby. I have been diagnosed PMR for 4 years or more, but lived with it for 7 or so. It took years to define, with private surgeons saying rotator cuff, I had scans, physio, injections, pain killers, but it never ended. Eventually an astute lady consultant defined PMR, gave me Prednislone 15mg and it was like a magic bullet. A month later we started the decrease, 10mg, then down one mg ( tabs in 1mg form only) per month. It was ok getting to 7, then I hit the wall. It took 3 months to get to 6, and three or more to get to 5, and so on. I was then stuck at 3mg through the entire Covid problem as I could not get to see anyone. They suggested on the telephone that there was an alternative and we'd discuss it in October. Well that has become January, and the pain was still there at night, 3mg wasn't cutting it.

It tried CBD, 1000mg in 30ml, taking twice as day. It worked, I actually got some sleep. So after my "trial", I got another bottle, this time 1500mg, and have resumed, but started reducing the Prednislone alternately 3mg and 2mg daily. In two week I hope to get to 2mg 5 days a week.

I still have some pain, and need to tinker with the CBD dosage. But I found a good supply at better prices than I can in UK in Holland, Sirius.nl. I have two more bottles of 1500mg for well under the cost of my original UK purchase. I now feel more prepared to get of the Prednislone; I was still in pain with it it, I may as well be rid and be pain free together.

The comments I have read all resonate with me, the distress of being in pain and not wanting to say so every time anyone asks if you're Ok, or How are you? In agony, how are you!

Thanks to you, I feel there is an understanding that I can talk about this.

    Best

    Peter
