Celexa and flu like symptoms

Anyone ever get sort of like a flu like symptoms side effects like as if you have the flu but no temperature because I woke up this morning and I felt cold and sweating a bit but checked my temp and it's normal so I don't know if this might be a side effect or if I need to reduce the dose and cut a 10mg in half and see how that goes or just wean myself off completely and maybe try and different antidepressant. I just feel off like my brain is in a constant daze/spacedout.

Might also add that it's been really cold out here lately so not sure if I'm just catching a cold or the celexa

You do not cut the medication in half the drug at 5mg will not work well that low. At 10mg the drug stands at its lowest level

I haven't forgotten to take any medications I'm not on anything else besides the celexa so maybe I'm just catching a cold or something.

Thanks I'm hoping it's just a cold because I still don't feel right with the dazed and spaced out feeling. Hopefully it passes.

Thanks for responding I've only been on it for a week and now I just feel so weak that even walking around makes me really tired. I feel really sick like as if I'm coming down with something it's really strange but I know something is definitely not right, extremely lightheadedness and just dazed out feeling . Not sure exactly if it's the celexa or something else. Seriously considering weaning myself of it because this feeling is really alarming for me if indeed it's the celexa.

Might also want to add i used to cut a 10mg in half when I first started which is a mere 5mg took that for a week then started taking a full dose 10mg I've been on the 10mg now for a week and 2 days or so

You need to give them time to work it's all part of getting better.
Have you spoke to your doctor about it?
If you try weaning yourself off you could make the side effects worse so I would highly recommend talking to your doctor rather than doing it yourself.
I'm only 4 days in And I'm worrying about the side effects pretty bad but Iv also has positive thoughts as well as negative ones, Iv had little side effects so the headache (which I'm 2 days in to having this head ache) Iv also get more sweaty I get heart palpitations still, I'm also forgetting little things well can't remember what I go into a room for or where Iv put something but I'm trying not to think about them as its all part of getting better you have to get worse to get better, stick at it if we all stick together we can get through the first few weeks. Don't get me wrong I'm just as scared as anyone else taking this for the first time well petrified actually but I need to not think like that otherwise I won't get nowhere with them.
My best advise is if you very worried call you doctor and know what to do just don't try wean yourself off otherwise it could be worse.

Thanks for the encouragement, I haven't talked to my doc about it just yet. The last time he wanted to switch me to Zoloft but I felt like I needed to give this more time to work so I wanted to stay on this for now but I hope these goes away eventually I know I haven't been on them for long and I'm only on 10mg. The mornings are still the worse I wake up feeling horrible with chills cold like symptoms etc. this can also mean I'm getting the cold or something but I just feel so weak and tired that it's alarming.

Your totally right shuan! Every time I up citalopram I get chills and all summer! I get tinnitus, sore everything! It's upping them as I feel better cutting them down! Change your tablets to something else like venlafaxine!
