Cement in knee

hi.

I am 6 weeks post TKR and I was at my check up yesterday.

I have had big issues with a lot of unusual pain on outside and back of knee and slight restriction in bend.

xray yesterday showed big lump of cement that is just hanging around that must have been squished out when bolting together.

has anyone else had this and what complications had it caused?

this is my second TKR and progress is good but it just feels wrong.

doesn't sound nice, I'm a broken record I'm afraid, ice plenty every day, push your limits every day with exercises and keep positive

I had a very slow recovery and docs just thought I was being a wimp as I complained of an unusual amount of pain, couldn't bend my knee, or use it as well as I could even before the operation and thought I had made a big mistake having the op in the 1st place! 7 months later I had an isotope bone scan for another condition and I had a huge uptake of dye around my new knee joint and it was discovered the cement had leaked and was stuck to the knee cap and was causing all my problems.....Some 7 months after my initial surgery, I had scar opened up, the cement cracked off and flushed out, a new kneecap and the scar glued together and I've never looked back...annoying and as rare as this is, it happens but is fixable....just unlucky.....sorry for your troubles and hope they can fix it soon but if cement it not attached to anything it could be fixed a lot easier maybe....good luck and let us know how you get on....

you might need a revision that doesn't seem right and could cause damage to nerves or tissues in your knee tell your surgeon to do an xray or MRI this could be serious
