CEMENTED HIP JOINT

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had a cemented THR, i was wondering does the bone still grow into the joint or cement as it does with a non cemented hip?

Is therefore a non cemented hip eventually stronger than a cemented hip if it cannot grow into a cemented hip?

Out of curiosity.

    Hi ric,

My hip was cemented, I am assuming the bone will grow over the cement. apparently, you get better movement immediately after the op and less pain or no pain with a cemented. None cemented hips get more pain due to the bone growing and the growing bone causes pain.

      Thanks Jen.

      I was thinking that.

I am 12 weeks now and was hoping for a swim, but covid could put a stop to that in the NE of UK where I am.
