Cerazette Pill

I have just started Cerazette yesterday and I am wondering how reliable it is. I have a long term partner and I am wondering if we need to use protection when having sex or can I trust this method of contraception?

Thanks

I've been on it a year and not gotten pregnant. And its been the only form of contraception me and my partner have been using.

It says its around 98% effective so the only thing better at protectig against pregnancy (other than abinstinence, obviously!) is the coil or implant. I know you have to be careful with the pill incase you get diarrhoea or vomitting for the first couple of hours after you take your pill as it won't be effective, but that's covered in the leaflet that should have come with your pills.

I've not been overly strict about when I take my pill, I'm usually within a couple of hours of the same time everyday but with cerazette its only considered a missed pill (and therefore no longer effective birth control) if you take it 12 hours later -so there is a bit more slack on how strict you have to be, but if you're worried it is definitely most effective if taken at exactly the same time everyday so I'd set an alarm.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply! Those are reassuring words smile I was on the implant until a few days ago and my time was up. It did not really agree with me for numerous reasons so I thought I would give the Pill a go! Thanks again! This helps alot smile
