'' myleopathy '' is ageing i think when the discs calcify
I have read up on the subject......... the problem IF it is left then spinal problems could occur and will be irresversable!!!!
In my case i did not know i had csm. although yes i do have some of the symptoms which i put down to - well just getting older !!!
I have the very sligt clumsiness, the slight imbalance but i do not fall over, and the shakey handwriting....+ 2 small fingers tingle rt hand........ I have no shoulder / arm aches which some people get- but these tend to be more prevalent in whiplash......
I have c5 c6 which ned to be fused.... cannot do a replacement in my case as no play in them as far as i know.
Not looking forward at all to this - but IF it saves catastrophic problems later - so be it...... I'm advised the finger tingle unlikely to resolve BUt i need to ask IF the other symptoms will fade afterwards....
Hope this helps........ if you are advised by a neuro or ortho specialist then i'm sure they know as they are seeing these things all the time. Gp's tend not to know or as i have found tend not to like neuro guys............
Hope this helps ........ kind regards cheshire guy

in 2003 I was told that I needed fusion in C5/6, and I battled against it, delaying the surgey for several weeks, it was only when a pain consultant anaesthetist told me that due to the loss of feeling spreading down my arm at an alarming rate, that if I didn't have the op I might not be waling by the time I was 40!
i had the op hut have been left with permanent damage in my left arm neck and hand and have no feeling, this has been put down to the delay in surgery, I so wished I hadn't listened to friends/work and chiropractor who said she could do the job non sugically, this was rubbish, but desperate to avoid the op I believed her until the anesthetist put it into perspective for me.
2 yrs go similar sensation and pain in right side of neck arm and hand, GP believed me but pain clinic didn't had to fight hard to get scans which pain clinic said nothing was wrong, I took scans to surgeon for second opinion who immediately pointed put protruding disc pressing on nerve routes, he told me I needed surgically urgently to remove disc at c6/7, I didn't like the idea but believed him. Surgery done and I am pleased and comfortabled in the knowledge that it can't do any more damage, as I am now a liability enough not having feeling in either arms or hands. I have a further disc at c1/2 that's thinking of misbehaving so have to be very careful of what I do as I desperately don't what to completely mess my neck up.
your choice, but believe me if the homeopathy doesn't work it'll be in your conscience for a very long time. We see specialists for just that their specialist advice, no one in their right mind is going to undertake this surgery for a bit of fun, it's serious.
i wish every day that I had just done what I was told in the first place instead of thinking I knew better, if I had it's very likely I wouldn't be in the pain I'm in now.

i am anxious but as a previous correspondant advised he delayed - i think the specialist is the best person to make the best scenario for their patients.
Certainly ask more questions but do not delay... it was my physio ( treating my leg pain ) that advised a neuro specialist.... Do remember these guys are seeing these conditions all the time...... hence they are specialists in their field
Hope this might be of further help. my thoughts are with you
