I had an MRI of my neck done and it showed the following.the problem is he NP at my GP said it looked great. I am so distraught. This does NOT look fine! :'(

Findings: There is straightening of the cervical lordosis.

C3-C4: There is mild diffuse bulging of the disc with mild bilateral

foraminal encroachment.

C4-C5: There is mild diffuse bulging of the disc with mild bilateral

foraminal encroachment.

C5-C6: There is a broad disc bulge extending greater toward the left

with uncovertebral joint hypertrophy particularly noted on the right.

There is mild central canal stenosis. The central canal has an AP

diameter of 7-8 mm and there is mild compression of the cord. There

is moderate to severe bilateral foraminal stenosis.

C6-C7: There is minimal bulging of the disc without significant mass

effect.

IMPRESSION:

There is degenerative disc disease as detailed above. The most

significant finding is as follows:

C5-C6: Broad disc bulge toward the left with uncovertebral joint

hypertrophy greater on the right. There is mild central canal

stenosis with mild cord compression and moderate to severe bilateral

foraminal stenosis

    Hi Mary

Firstly sorry to hear about your problems.

I would certainly seek second opinion on broad bulge alone and the fact that thereIs cord compression would make me consider second opinion as well.

    Hope you get sorted

Thank you George. When I asked her about it and she said oh it's okay it's just barely touching your cord I knew something wasn't right. She also proceeded to hand me a prescription paper for orders for an EMG. She told me to call around until I found a place that did them. I appreciate your reply I feel better knowing someone else thinks a second opinion is a good idea.

      No problem Mary.

I am not to clueed up on the higher spinal problems, but I had 3 bulging discs compressing nerves in my lower spine in 2010, aged 32, I'm now 38. I have had multiple discectomy that failed, and now have 4 spinal rods, 8 screws, 3 cages, and severe nerve damage in my legs.

I am not saying this to scare you, but I was miss diagnosed in 2010-2013 before o had my operation. Sadly my fusion failed and i can't work, and have recently had a spinal cord stimulator which also failed.

I aire on courstion now advising people but can only tell my story.

      George :-)

      George,

Others stories are what I love to hear because it gives me and idea of what I could possibly be facing in the future. I have heard of so many who had a failed surgery/surgeries so I am trying to do everything to prevent having it myself.

I also have lumbar issues wwhich are

L4/L5 there is mild bilateral ligamenta flava hypertrophy. L5/S1 Mild broad-based disc protrusion with a posterior annular tear. This has a left paracentral component that appears to contact and slightly impinge on the descending left S1 nerve root. There is also disc desiccation at the L5/S1 level.

My arms and legs both randomly go numb and the pain is crazy. I thought I was young to have so many problems but I guess it happens to all ages.
