I am training to be come a Wellness Coach and my mother was recently diagnosed with arthritis. I am wondering if anyone would be willing to discuss their challenges and successes as they pertain to arthritis. I would love to help my mother however I can and any information would be very greatly appreciated.

Quite willing to discuss challenges with you whenever I'm here that is, if it helps another person understand the problems & some successes that others may've found unfortunately I can't say that I personnaly have found any real help with drugs etc. but then again I'm probably in the minority

Thanks so much for your reply. I am sorry to hear that you have not had much success with medications for symptoms. How long have you been dealing with Arthritis? What do you find are your biggest challenges on a daily basis?

I've been dealing with OA for about 30 years. I was delivering Office furniture including Safes & Security cabinets when I started to notice I wasn't recovering from the rigours of daily life. Daily challenges tend to be facing the climb up to the bathroom, 5 days out of 7 I sleep in my armchair and wash in the downstairs toilet sink . My wife helps me to dress & cut my food. Arthritis in my spine & Hips is the hardest to cope with as I've been getting strange galloping sensations down my spine, legs & arms making it impossible for me to settle of a night so the Dr has put me on Gabapentin for what she described as Neuropathic pain. Mobility varies so much according to weather conditions, more pain in my hands,Neck,Base of my spine & Hips etc when damp conditions or pressure changes
