Chances of Shoulder Labrum Re-tear?

Had my surgery on right shoulder labrum one week ago. Total 5 sutures used. As i do not feel any pain, I tried to do some shoulder rotation and not to wear any arm sling 3 days after Operation. By the 5th day after Operation, i am able to do push ups without any pain. I am also able to raise my arms 90 degree in all directions.

Now im into 7 day post Operation. It suddenly hits me that I might have tore my labrum again without having any pain. Afterall, I have been doing big shoulder movement without allowing my labrum to heal...

Since then, I started to put on sling. However the constant fear is there. Hence need advice, how to know if i would have re-tore my labrum again ? Can it be tore without any pain?

    hi winston

did the surgeon not advise not to weight-bare on the joint in general. 5 days post operation doing push ups is so dangerous to the joint. even with just a decompression operation i was told only to carry the weight of the arm itself assisted. with a total ban on physio or working out until i saw the surgeon at 3 weeks

if i was you i would call him and seek advice saying you slipped and fell on the joint just in case there is a problem. even with paid meds it actually hides how much the joint is suffering post op. it took me 7 weeks to get over the operation enough to work it. even now 12 weeks i still avoid extreme pressure on the joint its self.

try googling recovery protocol for what you had done and stick to it or you will end up even worse than when it happened.
