change of AD to Anafranil any advise, reviews?

Ive been struggling with Depression and anxiety for years and been taking Venlefaxine at max dose for this relapse which happened in September, my psychiatrist has suggested changing to Anafranil due to me having obsessive thoughts which is what has been bothering me for months. I've yet to agree to it as it means me reducing the venlefaxine right down from 300mg per day to around 75mg per day.

Anafranil reviews show it to be fantastic for OCD thinking and intrusive thoughts so wondered what folk on here think?

    Hi Neil

My advice would be to give it a try

If your OCD and intrusive thoughts

Are rearing up again especially if it is designed for what your experiencing

Would the venlafaxine be stopped all together or is this a combined duo ?

Cheers David, my thoughts are always the same thing which I ruminate over abnd which drive me nuts as I can't switch em off.

Can only give them a try and see if they improve things.
