Hi everyone,
I have had to change bank. My question is should I rely on the banks Switch system to ensure benefits are paid in or should I do it myself anyway?
Thanks

HI,
You need to contact DWP to change your address, if you don't then you won't receive your money.

Change your bank details that was supposed to read, not address.

thanks Denise. I've just contacted the new bank and they said all payments received by the old bank are automatically forwarded to the new bank for 36 months. but I will write to dwp anyway.

I'd advise you to ring DWP rather than write to them because they don't always acknowledge letters sent. If you ring them then you'll know it's done.

Yes, I rang earlier. After 30 mins on hold I spoke to an advisor and the bank details were changed, so Friday is test-day. Thanks Denise.
