Changes in my vagina

Hi,

I'm new to this site so apologies for any errors. Yesterday I noticed a change in my vagina; the education around vaginal health were limited as I grew up so I'm unsure of the specific locations.

In the opening of my vagina, theres almost like a thick brain-like, squishy ring hanging out; if I put my finger in it feels like it pushes it back inside my vagina - I have photos which show it quite clearly but I realise publicly posting these is probably not allowed.

I'm really curious and worried about what it is and whether it's normal. I've read that it could just be my hymen, but I want to be more cautious about any potential problems. At the weekend I had symptoms of cystitis, which quickly cleared up after 1.5-2 days - I am doubtful it is related but worth mentioning.

I'm 20, no chances of STDs, the last time I had sex was about 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend, besides two UTIs/cystitis several years ago I've never had any issues with my lower region.

Sounds like you cervix, it is brain like. If you're worried have a word with your doctor.

I agree with Jane. Your description of a "ring" sounds exactly like your cervix. However it should not be hanging out of your vagina.    I would advise a visit to your doctor  for a check.

Would a nurse appointment work? I can get an appointment much sooner and there are more female nurses than doctors at my surgery. Also is there somebody I could send a photo to, to confirm it is my cervix?

Whatever it is you need to get it checked so an appointment with a nurse would be a good idea.
