Changing from Proz to Lex?

i have been on 20 mg of fluoextine fir almost 8 weeks and i swear my side effects are worse. I have read that some people changed to Lexapro because fluox was not agreeing with them. How long will side effects last when switching to Lex??
Thanks!

Hi i was in same situation as you except i tried flux for just over 12 weeks with symptoms getting gradually worse. Changed to Lex after stopping flux for a couple of weeks, started on 5mg for 2 weeks then upped to 10mg can honestly say i didn't get any side effects and it has helped me immensely.

I am one of those people. I not only switcked from Prozac to Lexapro but have tried other meds but always went back to Lexapro. I never really had side effects.
The very first antidipressant i took was Lexapro and the following day was groggy like i took Benadryl or a sleep aide the night before. it wore off mid day. No other major side effects except decreased libido.

I cut down to 10 mg of Prozac for four days and then my doctor told me to start 5 mg of Lexapro and stop the Prozac. I did that yesterday and now I am nervous that I am going to have with drawl symptoms from the Prozac… Today I’m feeling lousy again. Is it just the Prozac still in my system and I am still feeling side effects?
