I have said this again and again and again in these forums, "LYRICA" is not an anti-anxiety medication. Lyrica was designed originally as an anti-seizure medication, and useful for neuropathic pain. I don't understand what is happening with this off-label use for anxiety, there are many excellent drugs for anxiety,

(i.e. zoloft, cymbalta, prozac, abilify) If you are over in europe, (which seems to the area where doc's are prescribing Lyrica for anxiety) get a new doc, as fast as you can, and get off the Lyrica for anxiety, it's useless.

Nuff said, and this is all my opinion

I'am glad you feel better, may God bless your recovery to a very horrible condition as GAD and anxiety/panic attacks, (which I also suffer from.)  No one can understand the life crushing effects of GAD/panic attacks until personally experienced.  I try to offer advice from decades of experience, and use clinical knowledge to do so, I'am sorry if I offended you.

Good Luck, and happier days to you...Grey...smile

It's not that complicated. Companies who make a drug may try to make it for this or that, but at the end, they make something that will effect most people similar way. Then there are whole number of people it effects differently or not at all. That's why there are so many side effects and withdrawel effects. EVen they say that they don't know how the drug even works, but if it's effective for a bunch of people it's approved. Sad, but that's where we are.

Try the SSRI route, Zoloft, Cymbalta etc.  Lyrica was not designed for anxiety control although in europe and russia it has been approved for that purpose, (wrongfully I believe)
