Changing time of day to take sertraline

My doc has suggested changing when I take my sertraline 100mg tablets from morning till just before I go to bed as I've had difficulty sleeping. Has anyone else done this and had side effects? I'm only one day two if this and feel rubbish.

I currently take 100mg before bed (I started 4 weeks ago at 25mg and then 50...now 5 days at 100mg), and I was contemplating switching to a.m. because I feel restless at night and I never had that before....I was always a good sleeper. So not sure if you should. But everyone's different

      Hope it works for you

It didn't for me as I was too sensitive to the side effects. I'm on week 7 and am cutting it down. Alternate days

My wife told me about my night tremors. That was my impetus to come off.

I also got higher cholesterol and extreme insomnia from the drug

Alcohol is ok in small amounts and with a meal, if you decide to get wasted then the hangover will be extreme and will last a few days to even a week as medication doesn't work well with alcohol

The trick is to take the medication at the same time each day. I tried different times as I was all over the place at the beginning. I do feel better taking it when I get up. I have been on 50g for 7 weeks and to be honest it's been a nightmare with all the various side effects. Insomnia isn't as much as an issue now, still have it from time to time but it is leveling off. The only thing I have noticed is my left arm from the elbow to my pinky and the next finger go numb from time to time like as if the blood is trapped (pins and needles) but then sorts itself out. Anyone else noticed that?

Stick with the drug, my GP is very supportive of this medication but it does take time for it to finally kick in. The side effects are horendus but bare with it.

You are not alone and big hugs.

    James
