check up today

I had my check up today at eight weeks.  My surgeon was very pleased with how everything is going.  He is not worried that I am still limping and told me (as I already know) to carry on using crutch rather than limp.

I asked when I could have bath and he said now as long as I'm careful getting in and out and can sleep on my side as long as I don't cross legs.  He was also quite happy that I had discarded my TED socks in the first week or so and that I was now driving.

I was told that if I ever have any major infection and need antibiotics even if it is not connected to hip I should let them know as soon as possible.

next check up in a year unless I have any problems.

He did mention that I looked a lot better than I had done when he first saw me in October when, he said, my face had shown what a great deal of pain I had been suffering.  My oncology nurse had said almost exactly the same when I had that check up last week.

Sooooo happy for you - was it all you thought it would be ??? how did you manage getting in and out ?

did you have lovely scented bubbles?

Yes, it was lovely.  No problem at all getting in or getting out as far as sitting on the back of the bath.  I then had t work out what to grab hold of to fully stand up but managed fairly easily.  I do have something to fix to the bath to assist with getting out and now know exactly where it needs to be so it should be even easier next time.

i didn't have any "smellies" upstairs this morning but will ensure they are there tomorrow,
