CHECK YOUR THYROIDS

Guys,

I've been through a long  journey of 4 years of awful symphtoms. First "only" found Epstein Barr Virus latent in my bloodwork, then I developped IBS and now, much later, after everything pointing to CFS/ME turns out my fatigue, dizziness, IBS, arrhytmias etc are due to an autoimmune syndrome that attacks my thyroid, called Hashimoto. We checked my thyroid in the past but only hormone levels (TSH, T3. T4) but nothing came out, turns out you really need to check antibodies tooo!!! please do so, at least you'd know the cause of your ilness and could focus energies in controlling it. All the best, x

Hi thanks for that advice, just wondering how you managed to get your GP to check your antibodies? Only I've asked more than once and he always says there's no indication he needs to, as every thyroid test I've had done has come back within the banding. I live in U.K.

Thanks and best wishes to you.

Hi Yvonne, I had similar problems and in the end I forked out £100 to have a full thyroid profile including anti bodies. You can get cheaper tests but they may not cover everything but mine was a while ago so things may have got cheaper. I can't post links here but any google search will bring up private labs - you can even take the blood sample at home

      .

The GP then acknowledged a problem....good luck!
