I have joined this group as my daughter (now 21)  was diagnosed with HVS about 1 1/2 years ago, has anyone else had really bad stomach pain and bloating, i have read that HVS can cause this but there is not much info out there re pain and bloating. She has been to hospital several times and at first they thought it was her appendix which they removed, but it was not that, she has had many other test including a MRI and show nothing. Any comments would be much appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum Dont know much about HVS.

    Is this causing you or your daughter anxiety?

      Hi Lynne

      My daughter Jade, had to leave college because of all the symptoms, some of which have improved. I have now found a site explanning way and how HVS can cause the pain in the stomach, which now make me realize that we are dealing with just the one thing HVS and not stomach adhesions aswell which our GP sugested. Have now contacted our hospital to find out which clinic deals with this and will now be booking an appointment with our GP to get a referal, i am feeling much more possitive now as i feel we will hopefully be going down the right path, just have to convince Jade now as she feels nobody believes her, as she has had so many investigation and operation all coming back fine, which is good of course, but has not help us much. So fingerd crossed and thank you for your reply.

    Is hvs hyperventilation syndrome? Theres something called the Buteyko method. Thats about all i heard about it except it common with people with an anxiety disorder. Wishing you all the best.
