Chest not getting better

I've been struggling with my asthma and chest infections since March and repeatedly coughing up green phlegm. I've had asthma for 45 years but it is generally controlled with Flutiform and Ventolin. Since March I've had three courses of Prednisilone plus Amoxicillin, then Doxycycline and now I'm on Co-Amoxiclav for 7 days. It's the first time in my life that I am scared because I cannot breathe. I'm no longer able to bring up phlegm but I can feel it inhibiting my breathing and I'm wondering if I need something like Aminophylline or Uniphyllin.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. I always complete medication courses. i'm using more Ventolin and just waiting for results of x rays and sputum tests. I know that the anxiety of being unable to breathe does not help! Thanks again, Sian

Hi and thanks for your reply. Gosh, you've had it really bad and I only hope that things will improve for you very very soon. I've managed to clear most of the phlegm now but I still can't breathe well and have an appointment with another dr this afternooon. I only had uniphyllin once in my life and that was a short course nearly 30 years ago. I'm going to discuss it with the dr this afternoon as I don't feel the prednisolone has done enough. Please take care of yourself x
