Chest Pain????

Hi All, I'm new to this site I'm currently in a right miserable state I'm 24 on my own really far away from family so I don't really have anyone to help me I had really bad chest pains on Thursday night I thought it might have been acid reflux or something along those lines but I awoke Friday morning in a lot of pain and my arm had gone funny and had been vomiting all night I phoned 111 and they sent paramedics over they did ECG and all the other general tests they found nothing abnormal and advised I go to hospital if this should continue. All day I still couldn't eat it feels like there is something stuck in my oesophagus and on Saturday I still hadn't been able to keep food down and still the same pain but when I woke up I was unable to move my arm for a good while I thought I had slept on it funny but I waited a while and the strength never came back so I went to the hospital and they did ECG blood and chest X-ray examination etc.. but nothing I was given codeine for the pain but had an odd reaction to it so  Sunday, even more, pain and I feel like I've done a lot of exercise like all my muscles hurt called 111 to have an out of hours doctor but they said no and sent  paramedics around again and they still found nothing abnormal apart from low blood sugar which isn't surprising at this stage as I haven't eaten since Thursday  so its Monday my doctor has no appointments for weeks and I tried to register with  a new one but I have to wait 48 hours and I feel so weak and haven't slept properly  I have work tomorrow and don't know how I'm going to cope So in Summery, I have sharp continuous chest pain, weak left arm vomiting, unable to keep any food down, muscle ache and lethargy and random heart palpitations

not sure what other information to mention

Hey Debi62095 Thank you for the suggestion I've had Anxiety and depression for years now and I've had it very under control with therapy I know you can get some real weird symptoms with it but I've just never had anything like this  its really scaring me

All doctors should see you in an emergency and also have some same day appointments if you phone or are there at opening time.

Most towns now have at least one Walk in Clinic. Have you Googled for that?

There isn't any in my area they were all closed down according to the paramedics as they now have the 111 service instead which is really annoying as in my home town  there is dozens of walking centres the hospital won't do anything as I'm not giving any signs on their diagnostics and they are pretty overwhelmed at the moment I had an out of hours doctor come last night but all he did was give me some gaviscon and  has not helped at all

Typical of 111 who only seem to know Gaviscon and paracetemol. One time they told me that they only had one doctor for the whole county late on a Sunday night and he was twenty miles away.

I hope that you get some real help soon.

Thank you for you help , my partner, is driving down tonight so at least, I won't be on my own  Ive taken the gaviscon twice last night and today and it hasnt stop and I dont ever eat hot food so I dont think its acid reflux

Have you ever been prescribed a PPI?

One over the counter remedy that helps me when others fail is Bisodol tablets from any pharmacy.

No, I've  never been prescribed that I will try the Bisodol thank you for your advice  I just don't think is gastric related as I have no abdominal discomfort

Hey Emma, So sorry to hear of your situation. I have been a heart patient for 8 years now. When you can't get checked out thouroughly, it tends to really mess with your mind, or at least it does me that way.

What is your blood pressure running. The bottom line is , it seems like an emergency situation, and your fears will and can create a ton of symptoms that hopefully will go away once you realize your ok.

The heart institute always tells me that if I'm ever in doubt about what's going on with my heart, call 911 otherwise go to the emergency room, but I've learned over 60 years that anxiety can make you think nothing but the worst case scenario.

      Good luck,

A doctor once told me that the first thing  to do is to put some bicarbonate of soda in a glass of water and quickly drink it down. If no massive burp of relief in four minutes to dial 999. I usually substitute a can of 7Up for the Bicarb.

Your right Derek, I've been doing that for years with baking soda . Instant heartburn relief.

Hey Kenny thanks for your reply My blood pressure is perfect and my heart rate I've had 3 ECGs now Its just such a strange mix of symptoms even the doctors said its to complex for them to come to a diagnosis I've had anxiety since 14 and I'm really good at thinking rationally through my panic attacks I haven't had one for a year now  and I know Anxiety can make you have such intrusive thoughts that make the situation worse but its been 5 days now and I've had not rest its continuous pain  and vomiting after every meal

emma32634 you need to have a Metabolic Stress Test done and you need an Echocardiogram,,,,,bp ecg might not be an indication of what is really going on....like a car engine the outside looks good but on the inside stuffs going on...relly concerned about that left hand numbness that is not good......you really need to see a Cardiologist,,,,,dont let anyone tell you different...a great indicator of low blood sugar is nausea ,vomiting....but that can also be a sign of heart disease.......please see a specialist anon....best of luck.....

I can only be referred to a cardiologist by my doctor I live in the UK so everything is done through the NHS to see a separate doctor would cost me a fortune I did get health insurance after this started happening but low and behold I cant If my symptoms happened prior to my insurance sad

and I changed doctors and this one thinks its Asthma
