I've been diagnosed with coronary vasospasm and im getting very depressed at the amount of pain i keep getting even though im on 50mg zomorph in morning and the same at night, i can oromorph anytime but even this isnt always doing it for me at times, been to A&E several times take blood and im told its not heart attack which i have already told them that, just wanted something for the pain but i always get sent home without anything,i found the only thing for me was GTN infusion but i cant have that at home.has anyone else got this and have you got on top of the pain which is 8/10 most times.

Hi peter,
I understand your frustrations completely, I'm in the same boat, however most, and I say most doctors give me pain relief as there are the younger doctors that don't believe opiate based pain relievers are for cardiac pain, they are of the opinion that the GTN and the anti angina medication(s) will take care of the pain, now I'm pretty sure you know that's not true, especially with prinzmetal angina ( coronary vasospasms).
GTN infusions use to help me as well but doesn't cut it anymore, it's just quicker and easier to give pain relief of suitable strength.I've had to date 2 NSTEMI's and placed in the grey area twice last month for NSTEMI's due to the vasospasms, I had troponin rises, not long after my troponins were positive I developed pulmonary embolisms and my troponins started to rise again, they say this time it's due to the pulmonary embolisms, as of last week trops have returned to normal ...... negative

Hi Buddy, glad you are always there
mate,as you know its a funny thing these vasospasms some days im in a little pain and nothing to worry about then other days ive a pain level of 8/10 most of the day and there doesn't seem to be any triggers, its days like this that get me down as there is no point going to hospital as there is little they can do,ok they run the usual blood tests and my troponin levels were up a little but it didnt seem to worry them so as i say you just get sent home still in pain, ive got an appointment with a cardiologist 25th July so maybe he might come up with some answers. All the best my friend and are you on Facebook?.
