Yes I also have that but this is week 5 for me. I take zoloft 50. What is your dosage. You might want to talk to your doctor about your side affects. He or she might want to lower it . Don't suffer with this. Let your doctor do his job.

The Sertraline leaflet details numerous side effects. I think the numbers understate the real problems. I was on this med for 7 months. I have now tapered off in the past 11 days. I have terrible withdrawal symptoms but I am determined to stay off this med. I never felt good on it and I now just want to be med free.

While it is not definite your chest pains are caused by Sertraline, the meds impact a lot of bodily functions. My cholesterol went up on Sertraline - you could also check yours?

Hi Jenna, so you’ve had no chest discomfort until now  at 8 months of treatment?

For some it can be a side effect that resolves or it can come on at time of increasing dose but usually settles down or it can be dose related (too high).

Or in your case it could be breakthrough anxiety and perhaps you need an increase.

I’ve had chest pressure even when my mind is calm since starting the drug.  I know believe my dose is too high so I’m currently reducing it slowly- just reduced 5 days ago from 100 to 75mg.  Total duration now for me is 3 months.

If it doesn’t resolve I’ll wean off it.

Good luck.... if you’re really worried go to your GP or the ER.

I’m in the same boat right now...going to give it a few weeks at 75mg and see if the chest pressure resolves.  It’s also causing heavy morning fatigue and extreme dry mouth.

      Keep us posted

I'd speak to you're doctor as I don't think that should be happening the fact u have been on it that long you're body should be used to it by now

I too get this weird feeling of not being able to breath and like fluttering in the top of my chest. It is definitely anxiety with me. It happens when I over think stuff or do anything strenuous. Have you tried deep breathing.

I have just gone up to 150mg and have been on sert for 5 months. Doctor says I'm to try 150mg for 4 weeks and if I'm still not happy he may try something else. Can't say I'm happy about having to reduce after reading people's experiences on here.

    Good luck
