Chest pain

hi. i was treated for a blocked stent (restenosis) in heart which was cured except that a few days after operation, i started getting pain in the very left side of chest at lower rib. i went back to my consultant who informed me that it was muscular pain not heart related. the pain lasted over a week with no treatment given. it didnt affect my breathing or walking. but it was sore. ive ad a few smaller bouts of it since. my g.p. thought it was muscular too and gave me etoflam ointment. id love to know what it is. cheers Kevin.......
