chest pain and choking with barrett's

I have a sliding hiatus hernia and a small section of barrett's and I was wondering if anyone else with this condition has ever experienced a crushing feeling on the chest and swallowing/choking problems? I've just been referred as urgent for another endoscopy and if I'm honest I'm a little scared. I take 40mg nexium which has just been doubled to 80mg.

    Like colleagues have indicated,dont be too scared, it seems typical of what most of us are experiencing, it is about managing the symptoms and carefully managing food and drink.  I likewise suffer similarly and have to stick rigidly to a strict diet regime but this does help, although frustrating at times when you fancy something you cant have.

    I would love to hear more about the fodmap diet and pillow, anything colleagues can share would be welcome

      Started the fodmap diet about two years ago, not easy at first and very limiting. But It has cut my Symptoms by half. Yesnow and again may eat something off diet with no upsets but then another time..wham. also have Barretts Oesophagus and diverticulitis some of the foods that are allowed within the fodmap regime I cannot have due to my other issues. But it's do able. Best read up on it on Google which will explain all. It will show to plans of what's good to eat and what's not. I printed both the sheets out and keep them on my fridge. Let me know what you think.

    Well my pillow arrived on Monday so have had 3 days to try it out.

    Yes it's ok, it's nice and wide and reasonable long, some were like justhead wedge. The pillow comes further down the body and can see how it fits the body contour to help keep acid coming up the osphecus. The pillow cover could be better and replacement expensive, so will have to see if can make a replacement. Slightly harder than I thought and its memory phone. Does not look a lot for the money, but happy with it. Slept well with it. If thinking of buying one look into it first make sure it's what you want. Hope this helps.
