I've been having chest pain, shortness of breath.  Went to GP then cardio dr   I've always had high cholestoral  last was 9.1 with LDL of 7.3  both dr thought I had blockage  Yesterday had angiogram and plumbing was clear.  So today had another chest pain  not bad but it does interfere with life.   Don't see the dr again for another month.  He casual mentioned in the minute I saw him after it could be Syndrome X.   Any one with similar story.

High cholesterol is a factor in coronary artery spasms, otherwise known as Prinzmetal angina, that's the explanation I got from cardiologists because I too have a very weird lipid profile.

    Hi Lynda

I don't know what my cholesterol levels are, and will be tested soon I hope. My tests were all clear also despite CP.

My cardiologist did mention microvascular angina, I understand this may also be known as syndrome x? The delay in seeing specialist is difficult when you are concerned about your health.

Wish the profile of these conditions were raised more, as there seems to not be much awareness out there. Also some doctors /cardiologists seem very dismissive. Thankfully there are others that know that it is very difficult to detect but the symptoms are very real and can be terrifying and debilitating.

Good luck Linda and hope you get good support! x
