Chest pain going into shoulder blade

Can anybody relate, I'm concerned that over the last 2-3 weeks I've felt very tender on the left side of my breast, under the collarbone and into my shoulder blade area. The pain isn't constant but I do notice it more when I move a certain way or go to lift a certain way I'd describe it as a dull pain rather than sharp but seems to be around the muscles above and around my left breast. I suffer from health anxiety so I'm concerned it could be something more sinister, has anyone experienced this before now I've started with what feels like a cold and dry cough but not so bad which isn't helping the pain. I also suffer from air hunger and don't always breath properly I also tense my shoulders without realising but this is concerning me as it hasn't improved if anything it's worse. Thanks.

It sounds like you have twisted yourself or pulled a Muscle when lifting.

Try a warm compress in the first instance, also go to the chemist and explain your problem. Medications available over the counter. You can also purchase a bag full of dried beans/ pulses over the counter, you put these in the microwave and heat until comfortable warm. Place on your shoulder and let the heat radiate the affected area.

If it does not clear make an appointment with your GP

The reason I explain above is, if you make an appointment to see your GP it may take about two weeks to get an appointment. By that time your problem may have sorted itself out. I was talking to people here and they say they also have problems seeing their GP, upwards, three weeks. Given that we do need to be able to treat ourselves so we can move on

You can also try the use of a Shower, concentrate a warm/hot, rapid spray on where the pain is, that can help

I am not trying to stop you seeing your GP, it is this time involved waiting for an appointment. We all need to learn how to treat ourselves as we await an appointment. Doing this will help you gain confidence in treating your health concerns as well

Thank you for the response, obviously where the pain is I'm automatically assuming it's my heart or lungs which isn't great it also feels like I can feel it in my ribs Aswel it's got worse over the last 2 weeks no it's quiet uncomfortable

I noticed this recently! Same thing for me but on the right side. It was almost like the side of my breast, armpit area and was a dull soreness. If I pushed on it it was sore, and if I moved my arm it would feel sore too. I couldn't remember bumping into anything... I thought maybe it was just hormonal since it was kind of near the side of my breast area like a breast tenderness. Either way it went away after a week or so. Haven't had it since.
