Has anyone ever had pneumonia without a cough? I've been experiencing this pain in my chest for over a week went to the doctor and hospital. Dr said upper respiratory infection (unspecified) but only listened with stethoscope I was gave azithromycin and oseltamivir. hospital said everything was good probably cold but I haven't had runny nose either. 1 X Ray and many blood test done at hospital visit all negative but chest still hurts all day even after taking pain medication it feels congested and I rarely have phlem only have spit out 2 times in past week without coughing only threw throat clearing. Other symptoms: night sweats(first few nights horrible Everytime I closed my eyes I sweated profusely), trouble sleeping(12 hours sleep maximum in past 3 nights), occasional chills and headaches. Please share anything you feel that might tie into what I'm dealing with or your own experiences with chest pain that have been solved or unsolved but related.

The fact the x-ray was clear means the hearts not inflamed and your lungs themselves are clear. Maybe the infection is just in the back of your throat and down the esophagus. Do you have any heartburn, vommiting, anything gastro related. The fact he said upper infection after listening to your chest it's likely the case they can hear a sort of crackle as you breath with an infection. Take paracetamol before bed might help the sweating. Stay hydrated to. Do you take any other medications or have any health conditions including anxiety?
If the ECG, and bloods are clear and everything sounds fine on the stethoscope I wouldn't worry to much. Book a GP appointment anyway don't wait it out. Play it safe.
When did this all start anyway?
Wish you all the best, get well soon!

thanks for the reply and possibly i do believe i felt a choking feeling when swallowing saliva down my throat before my chest pains started i just thought it was anxiety becuase it only happened that day. i did throw up 2 different mornings but I'm usually nauseated when i eat in the morning so i avoid doing it only ate too take medicine and I thought it was heartburn at first so I took antacid tablets but it didn't really work maybe I'll try again with them. I do have anxiety problems every little thing causes me to worry. Ill try to get some paracetamol thank you very much
