    hi all

Thanks for replies. I have seen GP and I've been referred to gastro consultant who I'm seeing tomorrow afternoon with a view to endoscopy. When you start googling it scares the living daylights out of you! GP said as I'm over 55 (59 now), and symptoms persist, the protocol states to be fast-tracked, which I guess is a good thing even though I'm scared witless.

My most persistent symptom is the breastbone pain and I have no appetite, although some of that is psychological as I'm so anxious.

I hope others have experienced similar as this gives me some reassurance? I find the breastbone discomfort eases at night if I'm propped up in bed although I'm struggling to sleep (again thru anxiety mostly).

I have just been given a script for Acid Reflux. Taking 20mg before breakfast and 20mg before dinner. I have been having pain in my chest area for almost 6 months. Sometimes feeling of shortness of breath. I'm at my whits end! They sent me for stress test it was okay, sent me to a pulmonologist for PFT and was told i had restrictive lung disease, but then told it was just my body makeup. They are now treating me for acid reflux which i question. I do feel like I constantly have mucus running down the back of my throat. I clear my throat quite a bit during the day. I also feel like it's in my chest and the clearing my throat/cough helps for a bit. Laying down seems to help with this. I don't feel like I have some of the tell tell signs of reflux.. I don't burp a lot, don't have regurgitation issues, don't really feel like I have burning in my stomach. I did have gall bladder removed 10+ years ago. I've been on the acid med for 4 days which I know is not a lot of time, but i don't feel any difference. I'd even say sometimes it seems the med upsets my stomach. Does anyone else have acid reflux without the normal symptoms?

I just don't feel like it's what it is and i feel they are just throwing medicine at me hoping to find a fix. If matters i'm female pushing 50.
