Chest pains and feeling like I can’t breathe properly

I’ve posted on here a couple of times. I’ve had health anxiety for a number of years but it has become extremely bad since my miscarriage in August. I hadn’t first full on panic attack last month and have basically been terrified every day since. I’ve had numerous physical symptoms leading me to believe something is terribly wrong but my latest one has got me really scared and I don’t know if it’s the anxiety or not. I don’t currently feel anxious and feel quite happy at the moment. When I go to bed I get a pressure in my chest and I feel like I can’t take a proper breathe (like when you aren’t well and full of cold and chesty cough) except I’m well and got no cough, I also feel like something is tied round my throat. It is making me panic about my heart. Is this anxiety or should I be worried. If it is anxiety can someone please explain why when I feel ok. The drs diagnosed me with anxiety all those years back but I am still struggling to understand it and what affects it had in the body

Have you had any tests done? Like a d-dimer blood test? Or a chest Ct for your lungs with contrast? Your symptoms sound very similar to mine before I was diagnosed with multiple pulmonary emboli. I constantly thought I had a chest infection and I couldn’t take a full breath in. Do you get palpitations when you are not anxious? What do the chest pains feel like?

I’ve had a d dimer (along with bloods) chest x ray and ecg only last week and all came back clear. Yes I get palpitations all the time and have done for many months but this feeling in my throat/chest has only been say the last month. The pain is like a dull pressure with a bit of sharp pain

Where about on your chest do you get the pain? Do you get sharp pains across your chest to your armpits? A chest X-ray wouldn’t show up everything. Just major chest problems or bone problems.

Does eating affect your chest pain?

Have you had an endoscopy or any stomach scans?

It’s slightly to the left it doesn’t last very long but the pressure lasts about 30 mins. It can be worse after eating but it mainly affects me in the evening. I have had a colonoscopy and diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 18 months ago. But this feeling in my chest and throat is recent. I’m waiting to have a 24 hour ecg fitted. I was worried about having a pulmonary embolism and ended up at a&e that’s why I had the d dimer, bloods, chest x ray and ecg last week. They did a physical examination and asked me allsorts if questions and said that my symptoms along with the negative results of the tests would mean it was highly unlikely I would have a pe - but I hang onto the fact that it is still possible (part of the anxiety I suppose)

I’m not sure I’ve thought is could be but I don’t know what it feels like. I’ve been belching a lot more than usual. I don’t know if it’s all related to my ulcerative colitis. I just don’t know what what anymore

That is good, you can mention all your symptoms there. In the meantime, try Zantac and antacids to see if it helps with your throat discomfort. I hope it all gets sorted for you.
