Chest pains had checks at hospital

My husband had a by pass about three years ago. After a heart attack and angioplasty it was decided that he should have a by pass, which he did after about a year. Now three years on he started to experience chest pains. The hospital did all the test and say that he has no blockages, he also had an echo and that seemed okay just indicated that one wall of the heart was slightly damaged because of his attack but it was working. The thing is that he is experiencing pain still, and whilst in the hospital twice he had severe pain with excessive sweating and nausea, it settled the tests came back that it was not a heart attack as he had suspected. The pains are still there, and he doesn't know what they are. Obviously he is anxious because lets face it we don't all have the greatest faith it the NHS, when we read that things are missed all the time. Any ideas what is causing these pains, so that we may be able to nudge the GP in the general direction, because he hasn't a clue.
