Hi just read your blog sorry to hear. i cant help but will think of you all the bnnest and im sure things will work out for the better

Are you thinking about heart failure? I don't think your symptoms would be so sudden after 3 months of pneumonia onset but I could be wrong.

Ps: you could still have a normal ejection rate of heart and still have HF, if your ejection rate is lower than a certain percentage it's pretty much confirmed. I am confident you will be fine !! Let us know!!!

Thankyou Lidia yes i was thinking heart failure which is worrying but i have had a breathlessness for years its a bit of a joke at work when i go upstairs they know its me as they can hear me breathing. it has taken this last bout of a bad chest to bring it to the forefront and brought it to the doctors attention . they did say 3 months ago my heart was ok size wise dont no how they have measured it. i feel more that i have somthing stuck in my throat which i have told doctors on many occassions and the reply is because it is my upper chest and bronichal i am really confused. i will be glad once i have had the scan if nothing wrong there i will be referred to respitory doctors so may find something out eventually x

      Hele,

I am in your situation but my heart failure symptoms have been brought up by a viral infection I had 2 years ago, now after 2 years I have swollen ankles ( not all the time) chronic cough, fatigue a shortness of breath. My cardiologist after doing an echo said I had a leaky aeortic valve but said no HF. Well I don't buy it so I am going to see a second cardiologist in August. I also put on 10 pound of liquid, my weight can fluctuate between 5 pounds between a day and the next. My ejection rate was normal.

i have just been given water tablets has i am struggling to walk with lower back pain prob my kidneys and i have fluid on both lungs x

Do they have an idea if it's heart related or kidney related? Are the water tablets helping? Do you see a cardiologist? I have same thing, my feet and hands swell and tingle too at times, I look 6 months pregnant, my symptoms are heart related or circulatory, also my shins get shiny when swollen and when they go down my skin is super scaly. What is your doc thinking then?

exactly same symptoms has you lidia and my doc thinks cardiac related the fluid on lungs may be because of the exessive fluid i am not sure im hoping its not pneumonia again but im sure if it was the doctor would have given me tablets for that and he didnt. one reason could be when i had pneumonia weeks ago i had alot of steroids and these cause your kidneys to play up a bit so you retain fluid also makes your heart work harder i think its heart lungs and kidneys work together im sure i will be ok soon x

      Helen

I think if he thought it was heart failure he would have referred you to a cardiologist. I will have my second opinion appointment with the new cardiologist as I fear I might have it, I also have a persistent cough, so all point to

      cardiac failure 😔

I sure do hope I am wrong as that diagnosis is definitely scary!!

i have been referred to a cardiologist for a heart scan Lidia i think most of the problems are just a knock on effect from being so ill in April i am not very good with tablets either anything stronger than paracetamol are too strong even the water tablets i am taking make me nauseas but think they may be working a bit i still have awful back pain when standing or walking but need to push myself as sitting around makes me worse with swelling etx i just take things slowly and am hoping for the best results x

I am still the same still taking water tablets 2 weeks ago spent overnight in hospital with chest pains breathless still unable to walk far. my kidneys are fine they thought it was underactive thyroid that now has been ruled out. i saw a cardiologist end of August he referred me for echogram which i have had this morning they said there is nothing major shown up and the cardiologist will be in touch with the results in around a weeks time. i have had 3 ecg chest xrays blood tests waiting to have a 24 hr ecg and go on treadmill. ecg showed abnormalities but thats all ive been told so far getting quite depressed at minute due to not being mobile and putting 2 stone in weight on x i am eating pretty healthy and cut down to see if that helps x
