Chicken pox

To my knowledge I have never had chicken pox. I have been taking Pred for three years and am now down to 3mgs from 15. My granddaughter is with me with chicken pox. Should I be worried please??

    I haven't, to my knowledge, had chicken pox either.  Your granddaughter is probably still in the very most infectious stage and I recommend that you not wait for symptoms but be in touch with your doctor on Monday to tell them you have been exposed. Of all the things I've read concerning lowered immune system with pred this is one of the most worrying exposures.  It's apparently a bad enough disease for older people anyway.  Most likely you'll be fine, but please talk to your doctor.

    Thank you to everyone who has responded. I did ask the doc if I could have a test to see if I was immune/had CP. previously but only if I'm pregnant so at 66 that seems unlikely!!
