Chills and cough/sore throat?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Last night my body started to ache and my legs were quite painful, I also had a tickely cough but thought nothing of it.

I went to bed and woke up during the night shivering and shaking, I can't seem to regulate my body temperature. I also felt sick but haven't been sick just very close to it. I have a VERY sore throat and a cough, my chest also hurts a bit and I feel clammy and lethargic. I don't feel like eating anything and I have a persistent headache.

I don't want to just go to my GP incase it's just a cold (I haven't got a blocked nose or other cold symptoms) does anyone know what this could be? And if I should go to my GP?

Thank you 😊

Listen to your body and natural instincts. You'll know when it's time to make an appointment. Feel better!!

I would take it easy and keep warm. I have a reduced immune system so I am always terrified of going to the doctors at this time of year in case I catch some nasty bug from others in the waiting room.

    Hi Lau

It could be a slight case of the flu.

I would go to the GP, or at least phone them.

Not sure what country you are in, but if you live in the UK, try the 111 number.

Best of luck and good health

There is a product called sambucol. It is elderberry syrup. Used for decades. Its fantastic for colds and flus. Very worth the purchase and use.

You could always ask your pharmacist for something to relieve the symptoms.

Sounds like a bad case of flu.   Take paracetamol and have lots of  drinks to keep hydrated.Keep warm and stay in bed. You are infectious so dont mix with others and spread the infection. A cough mixture recommended by the pharmacist will help the cough. Flu can make you feel really lethargic and weak but should start to clear in a few days,     Note: flu is not a cold.  So many think that flu is just a very bad cold but this is not the case.   If you become really concerned then phone your doctor for advice.

Hi again. I was reading some notes I made recently: see Dr. if get all four of these together suddenly as will advise on flu medication - Fever, Aches, Chills, Tiredness (FACTS!). Hope you get better soon.
