Hi Evelyn I've had menieres for a few years now and I still eat chocolate, not as much as I used to. On an averge day I used to eat three or four bars. Now I only eat one. My consultant said chocolate was ok in small amounts. I don't drink tea or coffe, very rarely do I drink fizzy drinks. I also treat myself to biscuits every few days. Xx these don't seem to bring on an attack for me. My attacks happen if I eat a lot of cereals, cheese and salty snacks so I try and stay clear of these and only treat myself if I really fancy them xx

My dr. Has never said anything about any foods except low salt. What other foods besides chocolate are are limited?

My doctors said low salt, caffeine is a big no no, also fizzy drinks are a no no, he said to me keep a diary of what foods you eat and that way you will find out the triggers for you. Other people will have different triggers to me xx

Hi evelyn, being a sufferer for 10 years, and following this forum for 8 months I think I can say we are all different, which in itself is a pity because to pinpoint a specific trigger would be fantastic for us all,me Ive systematically tried the lot, no salt, no alcohol, no sugar, betahistine, no betahistine, stopped running and hard physical activity, continued, Ive just driven to London and back ( South Devon) in a day feel great, its even been said and written that atmospheric pressure can influence attacks, Ive even purposely drank too much to see the reaction, nothing, same with stress, but heres the thing, just when you are thinking hey this thing might  have gone, wham, Im on the floor crawling like a baby and out  of the game for 24 hours, its just incredible that there is no knowledge inside the medical profession that actually helps,so unless a chocolate hit is followed by an attack go for it, this wierd and ghastly illness cannot deprive us a little bit of pleasure, good luck
