Choking sensation and tonsil pain and slightly short of breath.

I've been having this pain in my tonsils and throat for months now,on and off, the pain is usually mild although sometimes the tonsils hurt badly.

It started off with acidic feeling in my throat, that feeling has gone now but I feel like I'm choking, my tonsils hurt and I feel slightly out of breath sometimes, like when bending my head down to my chest.

I have no problem eating or drinking, the tonsils look red but not swollen although they feel like they are. No visible lump in the throat but feels like there is.

I phoned the surgery up, the nurse said to try antiacid to see what happens and book me an appointment with a doctor for next week as they are fully book.

I've tried gaviscon, it doesn't seem to do much. Ibrupofen helps a little bit.

The short of breath feeling and discomfort on the tonsils makes me feel anxious, making it feel more scary.

Anyone had similar experience and recommendations on what I can do temporarily?

It sounds like you have bad reflux. You need to take a medicine like Nexium to block the acid production. Reflux that is bad like I have can cause severe tooth rot and damage to the esophagus. Changing the tissues to a precancerous state. I have trouble swallowing as a result and my esopagus hurts as well as bad tooth decay. I have started taking Omeprazole, but it may be to late as I feel like I have a growth in my throat. So it is important to take an acid blocker.

You either suffer from one of these two things that's making you choke on your saliva while sleeping.

    GERD

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic digestive disease. GERD occurs when stomach acid or, occasionally, stomach content, flows back into your food pipe (esophagus). The backwash (reflux) irritates the lining of your esophagus and causes GERD.

    postnasal drip?

When excess mucus – whether it's a watery or sticky discharge – drips from the back of the nose into the upper part of the throat known as the nasopharynx, it is referred to as postnasal drip. It is often associated with catarrh, which refers to an excessive mucus build-up most often in the sinuses but also in the throat, ears or chest.

You need to be prescribed for some OMEPRAZOL
