Cholesteatoma?

My friend brought in an ear endoscope you use with your phone so I was checking out my ears. In my left ear I saw this small bump (along with some wax...). After some Internet research I came across articles on Cholesteatomas. Is this what this is? Should I see a physician? I've had some mild ear/jaw pain for a few months now but associated it with TMJ issues.

Not sure it would form as part of the eardrum itself.

    Interesting find.

But I know that something as small as that, would not give any symptoms at present. They have to be much larger in size before they need extracting through surgery.

At present, there's no cause for concern about it... I.e. not urgent. But considering history of mild ear pain, I would ask for you local Doctors opinion on it when he/she checks your ear. Personally I would rule TMJ as the cause of mild ear pain and assess the severity of TMJ prior to possible Mayofacial referral - ENT as routine to assess eardrum if patient is worried
