Cholesterol too low?

Hi AskDocs

I recieved some blood results that show a Cholesterol level that is "too low" according to my doctor.

I'm a little confused as the HDL seems to be well into the healthy range, it's just that the LDL is low.

Would be awesome if anyone could give me their opinion on whether the below results indicate cholesterol that is "too low"?

  • S CHOL= 2.0 L mmol/L
  • S TRIG= 0.5 mmol/L
  • S HDL-CHOL =1.13 mmol/L
  • S LDL-CHOL= 0.6 mmol/L

Thank you!

Yes cholesterol can be too low, it needs to be your GP who you ask for advice as no one else actually knows your health problems and whether you are taking statins which if the dose is really high could need lowering to bring it back up into healthy levels.
