Welcome! We're a friendly bunch! I'm sorry that you are struggling at the moment but rest assured, it will improve.... Once you find the correct combinations of therapy and meds and whatever else you chose to use, it will improve! Go easy on yourself, also take one day at a time and accept there will be ups and downs... Congratulate yourself on the smallest bit of progress and try not to focus on what you are unable to do at the moment... You will get there!

    Hi, Traci

Thankyou for responding to me. As you have probably gathered I am a very inpatient person. Let's hope that this us the right medication and therapy for me I feel that CBT will really help as I like talking to people about it. Really appreciate your lovely response.

Aw bless ya, we all have to take care of each other! You don't seem impatient, we all get that slightly desperate "when will this end" feeling and every day feels a long time. Do you have a supportive family around you?

Hello! I am also new to this website (joined last night) as I have started to feel pretty anxious again. I am currently on sertraline 100mg a day and have been for a number of months and can honestly say I've only started to feel better after months of taking it. It takes time! I also know how you feel about it "ruining your life" as when my anxiety first started it consequently led me to leaving university and thinking that my life was going nowhere!l I takes time and a lot of determination in getting better smile

You sound like your having a difficult and distressing time, I often recall what a ohychiatrist once told me when I was in crisis and knew nothing about anxiety and depression quote " your not mad, your not bad, and you will get better", I was also told that just a little bit of positive thinking each day even if you don't feel positive or think you mean it will have a positive effect overall and aid recovery.

everytime you take a tablet just think this is one tablet closer to getting better.

See how you get on with the new dose but if you get any of the side effects listed contact your GP for an appointment or a telephone call, gp's will call you back if you ask the receptionist as they have a clear duty of care towards you.

    Thanks Aspinan smile

Really good advice. I'm trying my hardest to think positive and achieve small things each day im trying to eat more and slowly starting to look after myself again. Nobody wants to go threw this at 20 years of age but I am on the road to recovery and I will get better just a matter of time now as I am doing everything right.

    Hi Dusty,

I'm on 100mg sertraline , have been for over a year, they have made no difference to me what so ever, I have other health issues, I'm waiting for a thr, and when I asked my gp should I keep up the sertraline he said yes because they help with pain! well thats just fine maybe if I take paracetamol it will help my depression!! lol, really there is no cure for depression it comes and go's, all the drs will do is try out out all the different kinds of pills on you, sorry to be negative, but if you can afford it try hypnosis go private, cos everything on the nhs is cheap and takes for ever to get an appt, good luck , hope you feel better soon.
