Chronic Brain Fog From Binge Drinking?

After a binge drinking episode a year and a half ago, my brain has had this chronic brain fog where I can’t think like I used to. Just feel dumber. I’ve tried everything to remedy this. I’ve given up on finding the cause but I can’t even reduce the symptoms in any way. I don’t drink anymore and have been tested for every disease in the book from Lyme to getting an MRI. This has made me suicidal. I don’t want to live the rest of my life like this. Has anyone been through something similar with some helpful tips?

One episode of binge drinking cannot cause your symptoms, but depression certainly could. Have you thought about how what caused you to drink too much, or the resulting guilt, could have thrown you drastically off-course? If you haven't yet sought psychotherapy or counselling I would strongly recommend you do that now. At the very least it will help you with your suicidal thoughts, and give you some idea why this has happened to you.
