Chronic BV for past two years need help

For the past two years I have been dealing with chronic bv! It is a nightmare that I cannot seem to get rid of! I have tried everything and nothing seems to help. I’ve done the probiotics multiple brands, liquid chlorophyll, vinegar baths, salt baths, soaking a tampon in violet, cotton underwear, fragrance free everything, changing diet, yogurt, taking vitamins, giving up tampons, taking vitamin d, drinking apple cider vinegar, boric acid, Coconut oil, etc. all of these just provide temporary relief. I have seen probably 10 doctors gotten tested multiple times for stds and it always comes back negative, yet none of them seem to know how to stop the annoying heavy discharge after the antibiotics didn’t work. I’m at my wits ends and I don’t know what to do anymore I haven’t gone back to the doctors because they are never any help and don’t seem to be taking this seriously even tho it’s ruining my life. I don’t know what to do anymore I feel like I’ve done every remedy I have read about. im 22 and live a very active life style and i cannot for the life of me figure out why this is happening.

Shampoo. Using the same shampoo or perhaps going to a different one. I stopped using a shampoo that made my hair really nice and used a simple one. The BV went. This could be for ever, not having BV again or perhaps not. Have you had witch hazel and aloe vera soap together in a bath? The sea salt baths are good too but you need them once a day for about four days staying in for 20 minutes. As well as lemon juice in a bath. Of course, keep away from germs. Don't use washrooms away from home, or on the train or anywhere. I don't think anyone has said this, about germs everywhere. Plus no coffee. There is "balance Active" from the chemist or hydrogen peroxide. The other thing that I have considered is toilet paper....Is it treated with something that makes me worse or causes it. In the end I have just looked at anything. The yoghurt....Greek natural.

thanks for the reply. i did look into the shampoo as well and the toilet paper and coffee sadly it didnt make a difference 😦 i havent tried the balance active but someone mentioned it only treated the symptoms not the root cause but i will look into it and the witch hazel baths. Do i combine the aloe vera and witch hazel and sit in it? thanks for the response

Hi Laura. Your story sounds similar and I don't usually respond as I haven't suffered with bv for a long time. I first noticed it five years ago at my neices hen night a fishy smell that followed me round all day I was embarrassed. Like you I tried everything even things that couldn't possibly have worked in fact I still have a cupboard full of them. What did work was balance activ bv it's a little tube that you squirt within probably best when you go to bed so that you don't feel it exiting all day. I think the instructions where you use it every day till symptoms go then once a week to maintain. I've had to dig to the bottom of my wardrobe just to tell you the name as I haven't used them for years now but they work and you feel so much cleaner. I probably shouldn't but I'll give you my e mail address as I know how much this must be getting you down To do this day I have only ever discussed this on line as its a terrible thing to have. If your having regular intervourse then perhaps use one everynight after just to ensure everything that went in comes out. As for the probiotics I use them still but for general health rather than bv as I think they can cause imbalances also. I hope this has helped.

I just read about the link to the coil and bv. Oddly enough I started to get bv 5 years ago after I had the coil fitted. I'm due to get it removed next year so I'm wondering if there is actually any point in wasting money on a cure or whether I should get it removed now. It was so painful getting it in I'm terrified about getting it removed but this might spur me on to get it sorted but at 49 do I still need birth control? I only had it fitted to stop constant periods just shows you get rid of one problem and start enough fgs
