Chronic Chest & Back Pain - Started on holiday 9 months ago

Hi guys,

I'm really, really struggling now and this is my last hope.

I am (was) a fit & healthy 20

Year old lad in August. When I was 19 I once had to have my heart restarted, as I suffered from Atrial De-Fibrillation or however you spell it after drinking some alcohol (not a lot). Told it was a fluke and it should not happen again, I did also have a lot of tests.

In August 2015, I went on a clubbing holiday to Zante (Greek Island). All was good, up until I woke up half way through the Holiday with horrific chest pain and a fast heart rate. After experiencing what I had before I panicked and instantly got

Myself to A&E there. My heart soon slowed down, but I was left with chronic pain in my chest, and could not lie down on my left side or front at all. They said my heart was fine etc and it was a pulled muscle?

I flew home to England, again went to A&E and had excessive blood tests, X-Ray's etc but they could only see that my white blood cell

Level was raised - suggesting infection. I was prescribed antibiotics which did nothing in my opinion.

9 months later I'm stuck here. Every day is a struggle with chest pain (burning,Crushing,Aching pain & generalised back ache all over. I see a chiropractor which doesn't do much really, although he is really helpful,. My doctor

Also referred me to a Heart specialist who got me an MRi scan of my spine. All my tests results are clear ! Any ideas ? The doctors have given up on me and I can't cope with dealing with this pain all day.

Anybody know what could be happening with me ? sad

Not a doctor but maybe fibromyalgia. I'm suffering to and I'm 3 times your age. I have noticed wearing a compression type t-shirt sometimes help.I go to the heart Doc end of this month. maybe only God can help us but try to stay positive and leave any stress-tho hard-behind you.

God Bless and good luck to you.

From what you describe you have TMS, tension myoneural syndrome. I had the exact symptoms you have descibed here. The red flags are the panic, tested for all serious disorders first, MRI is clean, etc. I have worked with many sufferers with the same descriptive symptoms. Look into it and see what you think. Take care.

You're experiencing anxiety \panic attacks and all the wonderful pain that goes with it. When your heart was racing that was a symptom of anxiety. Everybody's body reacts different. All the symptoms you are describing are more common than you think. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain. I was diagnosed 16 years ago. I had the fast heart beat, scared for no reason stomach in a knot and a feeling of being not here. I started a depression med after several month i was feeling a lot better. And for 16 years I've been good. problems and still taking my meds. Now fast forward to this past September. I started having attacks again. This time it's accompanied by chest pain and back pain which has been limiting my life. All your Dr about this and get on medication. It will take time for your Brain to learn the meds but dint give up.
