Chronic Cough

I have been on 20mg for almost a year and I am just realizing the chronic cough I have been struggling with may actually be linked to the medication. I often feel like I have sandpaper in my throat. It flares up out of nowhere or can be triggered with inhaling plain old air, or when I spray perfume or it can be triggered when trying to eat. It is miserable. My doctor has given my steroids, rx cough medication, reflux meds, allergy meds etc. and nothing is helping.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Have any suggestions? I'm being referred to a pulmonary specialist next week but I am not getting much sleep and I'm driving my coworkers nuts!

I have a cough that comes on ever so often, I take 20mg and I have been on it a year last month. It does go away, but I find drinking hot peppermint tea with a little honey shoo's it on away. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply. I wish my cough was ever so often rather than just often. I love tea and drink it often but it doesn't calm my cough. I am glad you were able to find something that works for you! Thanks again for the response.

Yes, come to think of it! I used to have that dry cough so much that my dad, who is a retired doctor, was concerned about me! I'd also easily start coughing just inhaling, a dry irritated feeling in my trachea triggering it. I haven't had nearly the problem with this since tapering way down. Last week I finished my taper!

Another odd association was that I had a huge problem with plantar fascitis (heel pain, bone spurs?) lasting for years while taking the full dose of ven. That has gone away even though I am wearing shoes that don't have the orthotic in them anymore. I'd read somewhere that ligament/tendon problems were associated with ven.

The plantar facitis is interesting! My brother suffered from that and I know he is also taking this medication. I wonder if he has made the connection.
