Chronic cough and wine/coffee sensitivity after shingles?

When I got shingles, I also suddenly developed a post-nasal drip and chronic cough. Especially, whenever I have a sip of wine or coffee, my throat suddenly tickles for days and I cough whenever I try to speak.
It seems like it could be an acid reflux thing except I don't have any other symptoms of acid reflux. It gets better, not worse, at night. It gets better, not worse, when I lie down. It's a productive, rather than dry, cough. No sign of other acid reflux symptoms like heartburn or throat clearing. And acid reflux medication doesn't help.
I'm wondering if it could be related to shingles, like a sort of internal PHN?

My thoughts are that you have an allergy to wine (sulfites). Usually when someone has a tickle in their throat, and starts to cough, it is an allergic reaction causing a bronchospasm ie Asthma. I would consult an allergist immediately, and stop drinking coffee and wine.
BTW, I am allergic to wine-anaphylaxis, and some other foods.
It is a sulfite allergy.
Do you add anything special to your coffee, a specialty creamer, perhaps?
I shall research coffee allergies. Is it a basic coffee?

A true coffee allergy can exist, so I would stop drinking it, as every time you drink it, the reaction will become worse. You run the risk of developing anaphylaxis and death. Again, you need to consult with an allergist.
I am sorry about this. I would not drink beer, either, as beer contains sulfites!
