Getting out of my head and into my life ....... Sitting around and thinking too much is the worst thing we can do.

here are some things that have helped me a lot.

My Son told me that I need to push myself and that stuck with me. The pity party does absolutely no good.

    1. regular exercise several times a week . anything that gets your body moving. It releases good endorphins in the brain.

2.wake up with an attitude that is positive. Attitude of gratefulness.

    2. I got some help and support through virtual counseling. I look forward to it.
    3. eating a healthy diet. Sugar is a depressive agent.
    4. Helping other people in anyway gets me out of my head and takes the focus off of myself. The feeling that I get after helping someone is incredibly wonderful and it gives me a sense of purpose in this life. helping other people in anyway gets me out of my head and takes the focus off of myself.find ways to volunteer or just help somebody that you know, etc.
    5. listening to great talks about joy, peace of mind, positive self affirmations, etc. on YouTube.
    6. we all need connection with other people. A little socialization is important.

8.A spiritual connection is also important. I get a lot of peace from reading passages in my Bible. Over and over again.

all these things, and more, can actually make physical changes in the brain resulting in peace of mind. The more you do these things, the better you will feel sooner. think about getting the counseling. no one can do this for us. We have to take the initiative. Every day push yourself a little further and challenge yourself. Hope this helps. go beyond that little voice in your head that urges you to quit.

      Take care

I couldn't write a better answer than that above, so I second everything Jan says.

For me also using the word depletion rather than depression has helped.

I love that word depletion rather than depression! It gives hope that we can replenish ourselves!!
