Chronic Frequent Headache

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi,

I am having frequent severe headaches (at least 2-3 times a week) generally on one side of the head on one day and on the other side next day. It is diagnosed by doctors as migraine and taking medications for years without any progress. During the headache I usually take zolan (2 tablets) and it helps me to get rid of the severe pain. Also inhaling steam eases the pain a lot. Since steam helps me I doubt it has something to do with sinusitis as well. Is there anyone with similar symptoms and really appreciate if you can share the experience and explain on the treatments you take and about diagnosis.

Thank you..

    Hi,

If it's Cluster headache then you could try Sumatriptan, this is what I use and it takes the pain away. But you need to discuss with your GP what preventative medicine to take. I take Pregabalin and Verapamil.

If your symptoms continue, you could ask your GP to refer you for a MRI head scan.

Hope this helps, let me know how you get on

I've had a daily headache for a year. I've seen a consultant who said I had an infection in my sinuses which he treated with a nasal spray.

As for the headache he just said; 'Oh that's a tension headache take medication.'

I went to see my friend who is a superb holistic therapist and she massaged my lower back, she told me the muscles were really tight. I followed this up with a very deep tissue neck massage and the headache has gone.

I also had a tooth extracted and had to take very strong meds for three weeks. This seemed to really help, whilst the two treatments I had really got to the core of it.

I do everything I can not get stressed and I've cut down my screen time drastically. I hope this helps.
