chronic hip pain!

I am a 17 year old girl, who is very active, playing gaelic football for 3 teams and netball for two teams. I have great pain in my hips during and after a training session. I used to play a lot of gaelic and i feel that i may have done damage then. I tried to cut down on the amount of training i was doing however the pain just comes back as soon as i start training again! Have i done permanent damage to my hips? I get pain to the point where i cant walk and need to be carried off the pitch. However the worst of the pain is with my more dominant kicking leg. I have never recieved a direct blow to my hip and i am certain that i never broken it previously. I also went to a physiotherapist last year and he didn't really know what was wrong. However he sent me to my local hospital for an X-Ray and it came back clear of any stress fractures or previous breaks. I'm really concerned for my future both as a gaelic footballer and fear that in later life i will get arthritis as a result of whatever is wrong with my hips.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
Thankyou!

sorry to hear about your pain, you could have trochanteric bursitis. Can be caused from excessive running and doing sport activities. I am only 23 years old and I have it, it's when the sac of fluid located between the hip bone and muscle gets inflamed and it's better to get treated sooner rather than later as it can get worse as I have had it for nearly 2 years now and needed steriod injections and it still hasn't helped it's very unpleasant try looking it up on google and mentioning it to your gp maybe it can help
hope it helps

i have had the the steriod injections no longer than a month ago and for me they did not help. They infected my bursa and inflamed even more. I could not walk at all for nearly two weeks. And after I was able to walk the pain was worse than before the injections so I had to use crutches. My opinion is I would not have those again but it can affect people's body differently. Some people it can help. As Iv heard. But it's only temporary it will not fix the problem so it's totally down to yourself wether you want to go ahead with the injections yet

I walk, swim and ride my bike to and from work ever day. I get a lot of pain at the top of my legs and very bad back pain over the last 2 years.
I think i will just have to live with the pain.
Thank you.
