Chronic Hyperventilation + High Blood Pressure? Extreme Help Anxiety. HELP!

Posted , 3 users are following.

I've been dealing with anxiety for two years. I have an obsession with blood pressure as it is so erratic. Bouncing around from 120/70 upwards 196/124. I have chronic hyperventilation/shallow breathing all the time and this makes my diastolic pressure stay above 90 - 100+ standing and 80 ish sitting/lying down. I've become afraid to workout or do anything that generally raises your blood pressure. All I do is stay in bed all day. It is bad. I stay on the internet + game to keep my mind off of it because checking my pressure occasionally makes me panic and I usually have to go to the ER to calm down + bring my pressure down. I've dropped 30 pounds, I'm barely eating a balanced diet. Most days it's healthy eating, other days it's not because I get dizzy if I stand too long from the shallow breathing. My doctor wants to put me on a diuretic but I'm not sure that will help. I don't know what to do anymore.?

Hey man you're not in this alone. When I had severe Health Anxiety and depression my blood pressure use to be a lot higher than it normally was. When you do things to take your mind off it like play games does your blood pressure go back to normal? Remember you're not alone. If you need anything I'm always here pal. Stay positive mate

For the most part, while gaming my pressure is below 140/90. Sometimes it spikes if I'm playing a stressful game which is normal but my pressure is usually ok while on the internet or playing video games. If I'm breathing shallow my diastolic pressure increases. Some days my pressure is higher but for the most part, if I'm sitting or lying down my pressure is normal. Only when I stand I feel like I can't breathe properly and my muscles are really tense and my diastolic pressure stays above 90.
