Retroperitoneal Fibrosis is an autoimmune disease that usually starts as a mass around the aorta which then slowly grows, usually without any symptoms, until it wraps around the ureters (tubes from kidneys to bladder). When the mass constricts the ureter(s) pain or ache in flank is the first symptom. High creatinine blood test result is a red flag. Excruciating pain (worse than childbirth is what many mothers have told us) is obvious symptom indicating ER visit, scan (hopefully w/contrast) and sometimes a Dx of RF. Info & support is available at an RF FB group and at RF World Support. These two groups are very active and have hundreds of members from around the world.

I had an USS which showed small calcifications in the left renal pelvis, so nothing to get to excited about.

Heres hoping the blood work will show up something
