chronic knee pain

I had gone through two rounds of 3 months each of physical therapy.  I had xray and MRI which disclosed that I have a weak meniscus.  I also tried the shots in the knee.  Nothing really worked. Can anyone relate?

Back in my 50's...four knee issues..all had negative MRIs.  Four knee scopes.  Doc found a meniscus tear or a ripped femoral condyle cartilage each time.  Four scopes, two each knee...all very successful.  Problem is that all this left me with virtually no cartilage plus advancing arthritis.  Handled it with Synvisc shots for 6 years.  Worked GREAT!!!  Then I moved from the cold of New Jersey to the warmth of Texas.  Needed nothing for another six years.  Finally needed my first TKR at age 68.  I'm almost 2 1/2 years post-op and glad I had it done.  Lots of pain, lots of work, year-long recovery but very successful.
