Chronic mucus for 2 years in my throat I don't know what to do anymore and who to turn to

Hello,
I am a 65 year old man, a former smoker (I haven't smoked for more than 15 years) and a regular coffee drinker.
I am writing here because I have a chronic mucus blocked in my throat for over 2 years, from the right side, I have done X-rays and everything that was necessary but the doctors do not seem to me anything strange and they advise me to do aerosol or to take several medicines which turn out to be at the most palliative. I am continually chilled, day, night, summer and winter and not so what to do to solve this problem.
In your opinion, what could be the problem? What visit can you do to solve it?
Thanks in advance for your availability and best regards.
P.S. I am not a native English speaker so I apologize for my bad English.

Hi Mrshixor, Have you thought it maybe allergies? I would ask my Dr if it couldn't hurt to try a low dose, non-drowsy anti-histamine to see if it helps, you can develop allergies at anytime and at the very least it might dry up some of the mucus(this can be from post nasal drip or some inflammation in your sinuses/throat)..some people with allergies report feeling cold when their allergies are in the acute phase...it may be worth asking your DR...your English is fine, would have never known if you didn't tell me...Good Luck & BEST WISHES💒🎶♾🌈🐾🍀☮p.s. Be sure to find out about any drug interactions of current medication and be careful when starting a new med for temporary side effects, like dizziness & etc...💞
